- Hydrotherapy tub with jets (unit only): roughly $2,500–$10,000.
- Total installed cost commonly averages around $13,000, with a broad range of roughly $4,000–$22,000 depending on the model and site work.
Costs beyond the tub itself
Installation may involve plumbing and electrical work, floor reinforcement, tile or surround work, and sometimes a larger or upgraded water heater so the deeper tub fills with enough hot water. Ask installers whether your current water heater is adequate — it is a commonly overlooked expense.
Features that raise the price include heated seats, fast-fill and fast-drain systems, air and water jets, chromotherapy, and grab-bar packages.
How to pay for a walk-in tub
Original Medicare does not cover walk-in tubs. However, Indiana Medicaid waiver programs (PathWays for Aging and the state CHOICE program) may cover bathroom safety modifications when medically justified, and veterans may be able to apply VA grants toward one.
